LAMB

All proceeds will benefit the LAMB Foundation supporting local area school programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Any items you wish to donate are appreciated. Contact Kevin Cavanagh at 910-622-7118 for donation details.

Coats for Kids

The Coats for Kids program aims to ensure that no child in North America goes without a coat during the winter season. Through the dedication of councils across the United States and Canada, hundreds of thousands of new winter coats have been distributed to children since the program's inception. In 2023 our Council provided winter wear to 79 elementary school students.

Community Outreach

Knights of Columbus sponsors a Blood Drive to benefit the American Red Cross and Our Community. Visit Upcoming Events for the next date to give.The Knights of Columbus built a wheelchair ramp for a disabled Parishioner. Know of someone in the area who could use a hand. School Outreach

In the fall of 2018, the Surf City Middle School football program had its inaugural season, and after four strong years looks to continue its reputation as developing student-athletes.

In 2021 the Hap Hansen Knights of Columbus council in Hampstead, NC, made a donation of $500 to continue its mission of student-athlete community service and growth.

Parish Involvement

From setting up events and aiding in the groundbreaking for a new facility to cake for beloved Mothers on Mothers' Day - Knights of Columbus are involved.

New Community Outreach Opportunity

Occasionally we're made aware of parishioners who need a ride, usually to local medical appointments. They're usually older, and depend on family, or friends and neighbors, to drive them to necessary appointments, and at times those folks are not available. Taking a cab, Uber, or Social Services transportation might be too expensive for them. Our last call was the day before the appointment, and the wife had an injection for macular degeneration the day before and couldn't drive. Luckily we had nothing on our calendar for that day and we helped, and drove. Our thought was perhaps other Knights may be available, and interested, and wouldn't mind driving those who need this help. Having said that, please advise if you are interested, and willing to be on a list of Knights who will drive those who need a ride. We will maintain the list, and call on those who volunteer as their turn comes up. If next on the list is not available, we'll go to the next one, etc. If you're interested, check your insurance to be sure passengers are covered. Also, you can't take any money from your passengers because that puts you in a "for hire" category. Please email questions or concerns, and if you volunteer.
